LATEST ST MAARTEN SXM WEATHER UPDATE HURRICANE EDOUARD STILL STRENGHTENING IN THE CARIBBEAN

Hurricane Edouard is spinning in the central Atlantic Ocean, over 400 miles east of Bermuda.

Edouard, the fifth named storm of the 2014 Atlantic hurricane season, will curve northeast then east through the rest of this week. On this track, the system will not pose a threat to Bermuda or the U.S. East Coast.

Edouard is still strengthening and may become the first major hurricane (Category 3 or higher on theSaffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale) in the Atlantic basin since Hurricane Sandy, which briefly became a Category 3 storm as it crossed eastern Cuba in October 2012 before devastating the U.S. East Coast. (The Category 3 designation was given to Sandy in a post-season reanalysis in February 2013; while Sandy was in existence, it had only been categorized as a Category 2 hurricane.)

Hurricane Michael, which in 2012 moved over an expanse of open water similar to Edouard's path, is the only other major hurricane in the Atlantic basin in the past three seasons.

Eventually, Edouard will meet up with the upper-level westerlies and merge with a cold front over the north Atlantic Ocean late in the week, spelling its demise as a tropical cyclone.

OVER ONE DOZEN PEOPLE REPORTED DEAD DURING THE ST LUCIA / DOMINICA/ ST VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES CHRISTMAS STORM

Storms over the 2013 Christmas holidays have left over a dozen people dead in the islands of St Lucia and Dominica. Many were left homeless in flooded towns and cities. We had the Arab Springs, will there be a Caribbean Fall in 2014. The Caribbean bloggers have been going on a rampage, but they haven't gotten to the levels of other countries yet, when it comes to seeking true change. When you google Caribbean blog, you will now see hundreds of bloggers, professional and amateur alike, doing their thing. Now that Wescot-Williams Cabinet III is up and running, poor people are still in dire straits.

Comrades, begone! These politicians would not tell the truth to God. but, I pomised my comrades that I would address the social and political issues more aggressively next year.

You know what next year is? When I tackle the issues I will be more ferocious than my pardner coach Radjouki when he is on the attack in a table-tennis competition, but more on that next year. I am aware that politics is the art of the possible. Now let me engage your minds.

-Ministerie van Justitie (Min JUS): Mr Todd Peterson without a doubt. Sorry comrades, Todd is my choice. Yes, I know that he is not a politician.

-Kabinet  Gevolmachtigde Minister (KGM): Mrs Sarah Wescot Williams-rated very highly or diplomacy
